This Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 8:00pm in The Hartt School’s Berkman Recital Hall, I will premiere Stephen Feigenbaum’s new piece for Trombone and Piano, Feedback Loop Death. I’m very excited to give this premiere, especially since we had to delay the performance because of the blizzard last month. The entire recital will feature works written “On American Soil” including Stephen Gryc’s “con sordino” for unaccompanied trombone, Edward Diemente’s “THINGS HEARD” for trombone and electronic accompaniment, and Halsey Stevens’ Sonata for Trombone and Piano. This program aims to highlight music written in the last few decades for trombone as well as pay tribute to the American trombonists who have paved the way for new trombone music before me including Robert Marsteller, Glenn Smith, and Ronald A. Borror.
I would be delighted to see you in the audience on Sunday evening. Those who are unable to make the performance will be able to stream the recital live via the web.
